Disabled employees' experiences of workplace conflict

Details

Acas commissioned the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) to carry out this qualitative study to better understand how and why workplace conflict arises for disabled employees, and what supports its prevention and resolution.

It follows Acas's 2025 conflict prevalence survey, which found that disabled employees are significantly more likely to experience conflict at work. This follow-up study draws on in-depth interviews with 30 disabled employees who had previously:

  • taken part in the survey
  • reported conflict related to their disability, covering a range of disabilities and workplace contexts
