Trade union representative – content pattern

We often suggest in our content that users can speak to a trade union representative for advice or support.

When to use this pattern

Use this pattern when saying that someone can get advice or support from a trade union representative.

The pattern

[... you / they / an employee] can speak to [a / your] trade union representative if [you're / they're] a member

Example

You can speak to your trade union representative, if you're a member.

Things to remember

You can adapt the content pattern to what you're writing about. But always include 'if you're / they're a member'.

Check with a subject matter expert whether you need to refer to the trade union as a 'recognised trade union'. We need to do this in some content, for example in advice about consultation.
