Acas Learning OnLine given approval by 92% of managers

More than nine out of ten employers surveyed said that Acas Learning OnLine addresses well the needs of an organisation of their size. And the same number said that they were either very or fairly satisfied with Acas e-learning.

The research, presented in the Acas research paper An Evaluation of the Acas Model Workplace and Acas e-learning, said Acas e-learning was 'highly valued' by users and had 'considerable impact' in 'assisting the user to develop workplace policies, follow best practice and engage in self-development'.

Acas Learning OnLine

Acas Learning OnLine is a free resource designed to give managers, supervisors and HR professionals the opportunity to refresh their knowledge or improve their approach to employment relations issues.

With a series of 11 online courses, users get to work through the theory, explore practical case studies, and test their knowledge through interactive questions and a test.

The Learning Online topics include:

  • discipline and grievance
  • equality and diversity
  • bullying and harassment
  • contracts of employment and written statements
  • working time and holidays
  • pay and reward
  • redundancy handling
  • performance management
  • conflict resolution
  • people management
  • mental health awareness for employers.

As a result of using the service, nearly half of respondents had reviewed at least one policy or procedure and more than a third had revised at least one policy or procedure.

Almost a quarter had successfully introduced at least one policy or procedure.
