Creating effective HR - Part 2: Managing performance

An effective performance management system will have a clear appraisal process for employees. The assessment will be against an agreed set of objectives and skills (which can also be known as competences) for each employee over 12 months. It will cater for an employee's development, but also provide ways of dealing with any under-performance.
