Support through Redundancy with PACE

The Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE), is the Scottish Government initiative dedicated to helping individuals and employers with the advice and support they need when faced with redundancy.

PACE aims to ensure that public sector agencies respond to potential and proposed redundancies as quickly and effectively as possible to minimise the time people affected by redundancy are out of work.

Skills Development Scotland leads delivery of PACE support on behalf of the Scottish Government and has a dedicated team of PACE advisers. They have extensive experience of dealing with redundancy situations and are available to visit companies affected by redundancy, to meet with staff and to offer free and impartial advice on a range of issues including: how to look for jobs; writing CVs; application forms and covering letters; preparing for interviews; identifying future career and training opportunities; understanding rights and entitlements, state benefits and tax calculations.

The PACE partnership includes The Scottish Government, Skills Development Scotland, Acas, Alliance of Sector Skills Councils, CBI Scotland, FSB Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scotland's Colleges, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Funding Council, Scottish Training Federation, Universities Scotland, COSLA (Business Gateway), STUC, Jobcentre Plus, Citizens Advice Scotland, HMRC and SQA.

A helpline, 0808 100 1855, is available and information also features online at www.redundancyscotland.co.uk.
