How was it for them?

K: Well, seeing as I umm... I wanted to personally throttle Paul when I saw him earlier, when we started the meetings, I'm feeling pleasantly surprised actually, that we've managed to sort out some of the specific problems. It just feels like it's umm.. it's the minutiae you know, that grows and grows until you've got this enormous feeling of fury inside you. And actually if you can unravel and unravel the smallest, you know, like the barbecue, you know, just unraveling and seeing what each of us were feeling in those moments, then the whole thing doesn't kind of escalate. And um... this has been... you know I'm feeling okay. I don't feel too um... anxious. So I'm hopeful.
P: At the beginning I really didn't think that we'd find a solution to this. It was um... We were just working against each other and there seemed to be loads and loads of issues, but since having the meetings and talking about it, I think I'm more aware of the fact that we do both work in very very different ways and there has to be a compromise and there has to be umm.. a joining of us to work as a team and get things done and not be so anti each other just, you know, not being at each others throats all the time. And I think that we can, if we carry on discussing it and looking at the way the way we work, we can get the office running how we want to run it. And we don't have to sacrifice hitting the targets or the way we work or anything like that, so yeah, it seems really positive.
M: I'm really pleased with the way things have gone in mediation in this case. I think that Paul and Kirsty have now got a much better understanding of the way each other works and also actually, perhaps the way that they work themselves, and I think that's going to be really beneficial to the business. We've put some useful sort of measures in about communications, which I think will help them to work together in the future, and I'll be drawing up a mediation agreement recording all the points that we've agreed and they've agreed to share that with Bernard so I think he's going to be pleasantly surprised.
B: I am so glad that we had this mediation because it's made such a big difference within the office. Paul and Kirsty, well, they're not the best of friends, they probably never will be, but they're listening to each other now and, things are happening and the teams are working as a team! How they should be! And well, it's great for business.
