Workplace investigations - workshop and webinar

A new Acas training event taking an in-depth look at investigations

This new event explores the importance of workplace investigations and the steps employers can take to ensure fairness and reduce risk.

The course is designed to provide a rich interactive experience and combines face to face training with a follow up webinar.

This blended learning structure will enable delegates to embed their new skills and maximise the impact of their learning.

Why attend this training?

Investigations allow employers to deal with matters fairly and consistently.

A properly conducted investigation enables an employer to clarify and establish the facts of a matter and make an informed decision as to whether there are grounds to call a disciplinary hearing, or dismiss a member of staff.

Employers can be held liable if a poor investigation leads to an unfair dismissal.

Delegates attending this course will gain an in-depth understanding of the legislation surrounding investigations and gain valuable key skills for the investigation process, such as gathering evidence and report writing.

What we will cover:

  • The law
  • Disciplinary procedures
  • The rights and responsibilities of the employer and employee
  • The investigation process
  • Anonymous witnesses
  • Listening and questioning techniques
  • Interviewing skills
  • Report writing and presenting findings
  • The effects of unconscious bias
  • Key tribunal cases

Who would benefit from attending?

Delegates from all sectors of industry including: managers, supervisors, team leaders, HR professionals, business owners, Trade Union representatives, employee representatives and individuals who wish to enhance their CPD.

Combining face to face training with a valuable follow-up webinar

The one day training event will be complemented by a webinar which will provide you with the chance to reflect upon and boost the skills learned in the face to face training. The session will give delegates an opportunity to interact in a number of live question and answer sessions throughout.

We will also be demonstrating how to enhance interviewing techniques, heighten awareness on how the conscious and unconscious mind works and the negative impact these can have on investigations.
