Monday 25 July 2011

Acas is currently recruiting for four new Council members. The Acas Council is responsible for determining Acas' strategic direction, policies and priorities, and ensuring its statutory duties are carried out effectively. Although funded through the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), Acas is independent from Government and is governed by the Council, which is made up of leading figures from businesses, unions and independent sectors. Find out more about the role of the Acas Council and its members.

The current vacancies are for:
  • two members from an employee representative background, ideally holding a senior post within a trades union
  • two members from an employer representative background, with one preferably having experience of a small business.
BIS is looking to appoint the four new members to take up their positions from November 2011. The posts are part time and require occasional travel.

The closing date for applications is 9 September. You can find more information about the vacancies and recruitment process on the Cabinet Office website.
