Statement on BA/Unite dispute

Friday 22 October 2010

Peter Harwood, Acas Chief Conciliator has confirmed that he facilitated conciliation talks between BA and Unite in relation to the cabin crew dispute. He was assisted by Brendan Barber, General Secretary of the TUC and John Woods, Acas National Conciliator. Over 50 hours of talks were held in a central London hotel which concluded at Acas headquarters this month.

Peter Harwood said:

"Both parties approached the talks constructively and new proposals have been tabled. We are hopeful that these will produce a positive outcome in the members ballot which will lead to a settlement of this long-running dispute."
