Acas statement on BA/Unite dispute
We decided on Saturday to invite both parties in this dispute to briefings with Ed Sweeney, Acas Chair and Peter Harwood, the Chief Conciliator to see what options there might be to help resolve the dispute.
Both parties indicated that they were happy to have discussions with us. Discussions took place on Sunday with BA in person and Unite over the telephone.
An Acas spokeswoman said:
"It is not helpful to discuss details of exploratory talks in public which is why Acas always asks parties to keep details confidential.
"We never disclose details of talks to third parties which means that we will make no further comment in this case."
We continue to offer our support and as always our services continue to be available to help resolve the dispute.
