Update on Carlisle Cleaning Services and RMT talks

Further talks have taken place at Acas between the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) and Carlisle Cleaning Services in respect of cleaners working on the West Coast Mainline train service. Last November, RMT members had taken strike action over pay but further action was suspended to allow discussions to take place at Acas. Proposals were formulated on 5 March that both sides view as being the basis for a settlement. The union negotiators will now report the proposals to their Executive Committee for consideration.
