Dennis Boyd, former Acas Chief Conciliator passes away
Dennis Boyd, one of Acas' former Chief Conciliators, has died aged 78.
Dennis joined Acas in March 1979 at the height of the Winter of Discontent and worked for the organisation until 1992. He was heavily involved in attempting to conciliate in the Miners' Strike in the mid 1980s.
John Taylor, Acas Chief Executive, said:
"Dennis will be greatly missed by all in Acas and both Sides of Industry. He was a great character, full of energy and enthusiasm and a great supporter of sensible employment relations. Our thoughts go out to his family at this sad time."
