Lindsey Oil Refinery worker protests

Wednesday 04 February 2009

National Officers and shop stewards have agreed to the deal arising out of the Acas talks and will be recommending the proposal to Lindsey contractors and workers on Thursday 5 February.

The proposal involves 101 new jobs, open to British Workers.

Acas is currently establishing the facts surrounding the IREM contracting arrangements at the Lindsey refinery. It will be looking at the contractual arrangements, tendering processes, minutes of meetings and the operation of the national and local agreements to determine what has taken place.  The published report will include the current legal context of contracting practices in the UK and is expected to be available to all parties in a few weeks.
