Acas in action
Acas have recently completed a programme of work with the University of Abertay and here Colin Grethe talks about the University's experience of working with Acas to improve Health, Work and Wellbeing in their organisation.
"The University of Abertay Dundee is committed to providing a healthy working environment and is in the process of implementing a framework to minimise workplace stressors, maintain appropriate support mechanisms, and implement good working practices in relation to mental health, stress, and general health and well-being".
"In progressing this project, Acas have played an integral part in achieving the progress made to date through the provision of professional advice, guidance and support. This support has been through awareness raising sessions, the co-ordination of focus groups to identify stress factors, and undertaking a staff survey which has given the University more detailed information on which to base future actions and measure progress. The support of Acas has been practical and impartial, which are essential elements required to enable engagement by both management and staff in the process".
