Rita Donaghy, Acas Chair said:

'We are encouraged that the issues surrounding dispute resolution are being taken seriously and new approaches are being considered.

Dispute resolution is an issue that potentially affects every workplace and costs the UK economy heavily if it is not tackled at an early stage. The key is to prevent disputes happening in the first place through good employment relations. Where this is not possible, the system must allow for a quick, effective resolution that is fair to all parties.'
